7:00 - 7:30 A.M.

  • We pick you up at your hotel (Rodadero, Taganga, Santa Marta, and Tayrona Park sector). To take you to our office.

  • -In our office, you can complete the payment. Meet your guides and cooking equipment and store your big luggage if necessary.

  • - 8:00-8:30 am. We will drive to the well-known area called Vereda Lisa, where we will have the opportunity to visit the stones of Donama. This is a special place for indigenous cultures to connect in their meditation and receive messages from Mother Earth.

  • Then we will continue with a 25-minute drive in a 4×4 vehicle to the area known as Boqueron.

  • From this area, we will start our hike.

  • 30 minutes of walking mostly uphill. Covered by trees and with a lot of breezes until we reach the area of the "Mirador" where we will appreciate the city of Santa Marta and the mountains of the region. Here, we will enjoy a delicious coffee and a snack provided by the local farmers.

  • After sharing with the locals we will start the 45-minute descent to visit a traditional farm of the region and enjoy the first place of the day to enjoy the cold waters of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

  • We will enjoy a refreshing swim in the waters of the "Poza Enredadera".

  • After enjoying the river and contemplating the tranquility of the place, we will start a 15 to 20-minute walk until we reach the lunch area which is just a few minutes before our archaeological site Bunkuany.

  • Local lunch prepared by local farmers.

2 Day & 1 Night

Day 2

7:00 a.m

  • We will start the day with a delicious breakfast.

  • At 8:00 a.m. we will start a 1 hour walk, during which we will be able to discover the fauna and flora of the region.

  • We will arrive at the Piedra River, where you will have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim and enjoy the tranquility of the place.

  • After enjoying the Piedra River, we will continue our walk for another 1 hour through the tropical jungle of this region until we reach the Calabazo trail, where we will have the opportunity to rest and have a delicious lunch.

  • After a delicious lunch, we will receive permission to enter and tour the archaeological site.

  • We will start a tour of the different terraces, where we can learn about the ancestral history of the region. We will also learn about the different archaeological versions that they have shared with the public.

  • We will ascend to the highest terrace, where you can rest and practice yoga to feel the peace that the place transmits.

  • At 5:00 p.m. we will start the return trip for 15 minutes or 20 minutes to our resting place.

  • Here we will have dinner and spend the night surrounded by the terraces and the Tayrona culture

  • 1:00 p.m. After lunch, we will take a motorbike from Calabazo for 15 minutes to the indigenous village of Tayku.

  • After the visit to the indigenous village of Tayku, we will thank our friends of the Kogui culture and take the motorbike back to the village of Calabazo. 15 minutes.

  • In Calabazo the vehicle will take us back to our hotel where we will end our Bunkuany Tayrona 2 days experience

What to bring?

Every single day you will hike through a dense humid forest. Even if the sun is not extremely warm, we will be sweating so much because of the humidity.
The secret to success during this adventure is taking a light backpack with us.
