A beautiful area inhabited by only 2 families of farmers decided to open this path of 18 km from El Mamey throughout this magnificent jungle full of waterfalls to enjoy and ending at WiwaCamp (Usually halfway of the lost city tour).
The most adventurous tour in Santa Marta Crosses the stunning Buritaca River 6 times, meeting our indigenous communities and finally our spiritual leader at the top of the lost city.


Day 1
We will pick You up between 6:30 - 7:00 Am to be driven to the office and complete the payment.
Drive from Santa Marta to EL Mamey. 3 hours.
Lunch at the village El Mamey.
Breakfast and a short walk through El Mamey town.
25 minutes Ride by Motorcycle until the top of the mountain. Viewpoint call Vista Hermosa.
A quick explanation about the conflict around the area back in the 70s before starting the hike.
Our adventure starts with a calm walk mostly downhill 1.9 km until our first private spot to swim.
40 minutes stop to enjoy our first natural swimming pool.
Some snacks and fruits to enjoy.
After a lovely swim, We restart our adventure with a 2 hours walk mostly uphill until our next checkpoint.
At the top of the mountain, We will find some more fruits to eat and recharge energy.
Time to rest and apply some more Mosquito repellent for the last 2 hours of walking.
The last 2 hours of the first day of the trek will be mostly downhill and through the indigenous reservation of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
2 hours downhill. Stunning views of the indigenous reservation.
Arrives at camp Mumake around 4:00 Pm - 4:40 Pm.
Time to drop our luggage and stretch our bodies.
Shower.
Time for coffee or a cup of tea.
Dinner.
Bonfire with the leader of the indigenous communities.


Day 2
Mumake Camp - Lorenzo Camp.
You will be welcomed by the table at 5:30 Am for breakfast.
7:00 time to start walking.
We will walk 40 minutes next to the Buritava River.
Great views of the Buritaca river from different viewpoints.
1 hour walking the mountain all the way up. This is the most demanding part of the morning.
Asprilla Store - Viewpoint is gonna be our first stop to rest, eat some fruits and buy some drinks. 30 minutes break.
After this break, We must walk for 1 hour and 30 minutes to Lorenzo Camp.
At Lorenzo Camp, We will have time to drink something and go to the Buritaca River to enjoy Nature and have a swing before Lunch.
Lunch.
Nap in a hammock.
Now it's time to go to The Lost City.
We start our walk when We know the Lost City is already empty for us.
1 hour to find the first steps of the Lost City.
1.200 steps to the first platform of the Lost City.
5 hours to walk around the archeological site, and discover the stone paths and retaining walls along 4 different sectors.
Information from our guides about the archeological site and the very organized tribes that used to inhabit this ancient temple.
Snacks and fruits. Also, time alone to meditate before leaving the place.
Time to do steps down crossed the river and walk back to Lorenzo Camp.
1 Hour of walking back to Lorenzo Camp.
At Lorenzo Camp, We will have time to go to the Buritaca river for a swing before a nice cup of coffee or a hot chocolate.
Dinner.
Time to rest for the next day.


Day 3
A new Adventure Begins!
Lorenzo Camp - Mumake Camp. ( For Lunch).
Mumake Camp - Ancestral Waterfalls New Camp.
Breakfast at 5:20 Am.
We will start walking at 2:20 Am.
1 hour 3o minutes approximately to get to the Asprilla store.
Time to rest and enjoy some drinks and fruit.
We will restart our walk from the Asprilla store to Mumake Camp, The path will be mostly downhill, easy to enjoy the amazing views.
2 hours downhill until Mumake camp.
Time to swim and relax.
Lunch.
Time to rest before continuing.
A New Path. A new Adventure.
A new Challenge.
We will walk for the next 2 hours until the first spot to cross the river.
We will use a cable car to cross the river this time.
Time to swing and relax in our first Ancestral Waterfall.
After a few minutes at the waterfall, We must return to the path to continue.
1 hour & 30 minutes of walking through the dense jungle.
2 times crossing the Buritaca river, this time Barefoot.
Finally at the camp at 4:00 Pm and 4:30 Pm.
Our Camp is Surrounded by 2 beautiful waterfalls that you can visit when you prefer.
At the Waterfalls Camp. You can buy drinks,
Have a shower.
Ask for coffee, Hot chocolate, or tea.
Enjoy and relax in hammocks.
Appreciate Nature around the camp.
Visit the river or the waterfalls.
Dinner.
After dinner, Our guides prepare a bonfire to enjoy our last night together.


Day 4
Time to go home!
Waterfalls Camp - El Mamey Town.
Breakfast will be ready at 6:00 Am
We will start walking at 7:00 Am.
Less than 30 minutes of walking and We will find the last spot where to swing and appreciate the beauty of nature.
3 hours of Walk mostly Uphill. The most demanding part of the trek.
At the top of the mountain, a local person is going to be waiting for us to take us to el Mamey by motorbike. 25 minutes ride.
There is also the option to skip the motorbike and keep walking for the last 2 hours.
We will meet all in El Mamey for the last toast and Luch together.

What to Bring?
The Lost City trek is not an easy tour.
Every single day you will hike through a dense humid forest. Even if the sun is not extremely warm, we will be sweating soo much because of the humidity.
The secret to success during this adventure is taking a light backpack with us.
Here you have some tips about what you will need up there.
Small /medium size backpack.
Light clothes to walk.Long sleeves shirt, and long pants for the nights.
Comfortable shoes to walk (hiking boots / running shoes.
Flip flops, small towel, swimsuit.
