3 Days 2 Nights.

A group of farmers has decided to open this narrow path of 22 km near the original Lost City Route. This route is exclusive and full of nature, We are happy to say that this route is even more jungle than the well-known lost city route. The lack of people living around helps maintain the peace of different animals like snakes, spiders, toucans, and more birds from the region.

You are going to be hiking and helping different families from this area. Your guide is going to be a local farmer full of experience and knowledge about the flora and fauna of this area.

Day 1

We will pick you up between 6:30 and 7:00 Am.

  • Our driver is going to drive You to our office to complete the payment.

  • 1 hour 45 minutes to El Mamey Town.

  • Breakfast at the traditional town "EL Mamey" Short walk and explanation of the town.

  • 25 minutes Ride by Motorcycle until the Viewpoint called Vista Hermosa.

  • A quick explanation about the conflict in this region back in the 70s before starting the hike.

  • Our adventure starts with a calm walk mostly downhill 2.5 km until our first private spot to swim.

  • We will have to cross the Buritaca River for the first time to find our first camp.

  • Our chef is going to be ready with some natural juice and some snacks.

  •  Only 1.5 km away there is another natural pond to swim and enjoy. 

  • Time for a swim, Connect with nature, and meditate for a bit.

  • After a while swimming we walk the way back to the camp. 45 minutes back.

  • There is a massive waterfall just behind our camp. Perfect spot to enjoy our snacks.

  • You can enjoy a nice hammock and the calmness of the jungle while We wait for our lunch

  • Time to have a nap after lunch.

After napping for a bit, We can continue our adventure.
  • Only 2.5 km away there is another natural pond to enjoy,

  • Connect with nature, and meditate for a bit.

  • During the afternoon We can visit 3 or 4 more different waterfalls.

After Hiking for the rest of the afternoon We will be back at our camp.

  • We will be able to take a Shower. Grab some Coffee, hot chocolate or tea, and some popcorn.

  • Time to chill in the hammocks

  • Information shared by our local guide before dinner time.

  • Dinner Bonfire (if it does not rain).

  • Nice Spot to see the stars during the night.

Day 2

Enjoy the Ancestral sound of nature as much as You want.

  • At 5:45 Our chef will have some nice fresh Colombian coffee ready for Us.

  • There is no rush on leaving this place at all.

  • Breakfast early when You feel ready for it.

  • Walk for 2 hours until the first waterfall where to enjoy.

  • In total 5 hours of walking with stops to enjoy several waterfalls.

  • A spot to jump from 12 meters high to the Buritaca River.

  • Snacks along the day.

  • Lunch and rest for the night at the Wiwa Camp.

Wiwa camp is going to be our place for the second night.

  • We will have the opportunity to learn a bit about the Community.

  • We will be more than welcome to meet their tradition and their connection with Mother Earth.

  • Dinner with the community.

  • Time to ask questions and listen to their stories in from of a campfire.

Day 3

Time To go Home. 6 hours of hike to finish.
  • At 5:45 Our chef will have some nice fresh Colombian coffee ready for Us.

  • After a delicious breakfast, We will start walking the mountain uphill. 1 hour 30 minutes.

  • Time to rest for a few minutes.

  • 1 hour 30 minutes mostly downhill until the camp named Adam camp.

  • Time to have a swim and relax before continuing.

After some snacks, We will have 3 more hours.

  • 1 hour uphill (quite a demanding part of the tour).

  • Once at the top We will have another break.

  • 2 more hours of walking mostly downhill until El Mamey town

  • Final Lunch to complete the tour

  • Transportation back to Santa Marta.

Our Adventure Includes

Every single day You will hike through a dense humid forest. Even if the sun is not extremely warm, We will be sweating so much because of the humidity.
The secret to success during this adventure is taking a light backpack with Us.
Here You have some tips about what You will need up there.
  • Small /medium size backpack.

  • Light clothes to walk.

  • Long sleeves shirt, and long pants for the nights.

  • Comfortable shoes to walk (hiking boots / running shoes.

  • Flip flops, small towel, swimsuit.

  • Toiletries.

  • Cash to buy souvenirs from the indigenous and the farmers.

  • Cash for alcohol or cold drinks at the camps.

  • Tips for the guides.
