Sacred Energy Portal for the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta indigenous people. Area where the priority is to connect with Mother Earth.
If you want to be part of a short hike but full of challenges and adventure. This trek is for you.

15 kilometers walking.
4 hours of trekking per day.
A better alternative if you don't want to do the Lost City and want to trek through the tropical rainforest in Colombia.


Hike through the dense and challenging jungle surrounding the majestic Buritaca River.
Take the narrow trail through the humid tropical forest of the lower part of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Our highest point will be 700 meters above sea level, and we will descend to the immense Buritaca River to enjoy its beautiful waterfalls and deep swimming holes.
A total of 17 kilometers to go. Sighting of toucans and other birds of the region. Ancient trees and virgin vegetation are perfect to contemplate and appreciate.
A hike where the priority is to connect each step of our being with the pure intensity of nature.

Our Adventure Includes
Every single day You will hike through a dense humid forest. Even if the sun is not extremely warm, We will be sweating so much because of the humidity.
The secret to success during this adventure is taking a light backpack with Us.
Here You have some tips about what You will need up there.
Small /medium size backpack.
Light clothes to walk.
Long sleeves shirt, and long pants for the nights.
Comfortable shoes to walk (hiking boots / running shoes.
Flip flops, small towel, swimsuit.
Toiletries.
Insect repellent, sunscreen.
A hat.
Cash to buy souvenirs from the indigenous and the farmers.
Cash for alcohol or cold drinks at the camps.
Tips for the guides.
Meals, fruits, and snacks.
Accommodation on beds or hammocks.
Contribution to the Kogui and Wiwa indigenous communities.
Contribution to the peasant community that makes this adventure possible.

Day 1
We will pick you up between 6:30 and 7:00 A.m. At your hotel in Santa Marta, Minca, Tayrona, or Palomino.
We will take you to the main office where you can pay for the tour in cash, and where we will store your large suitcases at no cost.
8:30 am We will be in the village El Mamey at about 140 meters above sea level for a small breakfast.
9:15 a.m. We will board the motorcycles, which will take us from 140 meters above sea level to 700 meters above sea level. The ride will take approximately 25 minutes.
9:40 am We start our tour through the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains.
The first two hours of hiking are up the mountain, with flat trails and spectacular views of the mountains that make up the farmer region until we cross to the indigenous reservation.
After two hours of walking, we will have a short break to taste the fresh fruits of the region and replenish our energy.
We return to the hike already inside the indigenous reservation. Spectacular views of the majestic songs of thousands of birds of the region.
1 hour and 20 minutes of descent to the WIWA tribe camp where we will spend the night.
Once we are at the camp, we will make a brief tour to get to know the place, settle in our space, change our clothes, and enjoy the view.
Time for lunch.
In the afternoon. Change clothes and enjoy the incredible and beautiful Buritaca River.
Fruits and snacks in this beautiful place. We will have time to swim in the Buritaca River, eat fruits, and enjoy the sound of the river.
Our beds will always be ready if you want to rest or take a nap before dinner and take the message from the Indians.
18:00 Local dinner with members of the work team and the Indigenous family.
7:15 pm Meeting with the Indigenous community, accompanied by a bonfire, we will learn the importance of fire and natural elements for Indigenous cultures, we will have information about the importance of the coca leaf and marriage in the region.
A very nice talk where we will have time to ask all our questions.
20:30 time to rest in our beds inside the camp.
