Located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, 200 meters above sea level, our small Indigenous village is home to more than 50 families of the Wiwa community. This community has been consolidated to strengthen its identity, culture, and territory through ancestral education, thus preserving its traditions and roots.

Day 1
6:30 am transportation from your hotel in Guachaca or Palomino.
A two-hour drive to the hike's starting point, the Juan y Medio district of Riohacha.
Walk to the Zanañi community in approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on group step.
10:00 am Welcome to the Zanañi village.
Our local indigenous guide will give us a tour of the village and tell us part of the history of the village and the community.
12:30 Local lunch with the community.
After lunch, we will have some Activities with the men of the village, We will cut Fique leaves and then extract the maguey fiber (Fique).
We will learn the final process of the handicrafts with the Wiwa women, and they will have the opportunity to interact and learn the cultural weaving of the Wiwa community.
Also, some men will teach us the importance and process of the coca leaves in the four indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Together with the community, we will plant a tree in the fertile lands of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta.
Before leaving, we will meet the spiritual leader of the village, known as MAMO. We will enjoy a bonfire to listen to his stories and ask him questions.


We will be back in the city between 4:30 and 5:00 in the afternoon.
