We will immerse ourselves in a fascinating journey through the customs of the Wiwa community, descendants of the "Tayrona".
Day 1
7:20 Am. We will meet you in “Tienda Nuevo CALABAZO” Located at the Entrance of the Tayrona National Natural Park.
7:30 Am breakfast, pay for the tour in cash and leave our bags for the tour administration to mark them with our names and keep them while we enjoy this adventure.
Two-hour hike through the lowland jungle of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Stop at the archaeological site Piedra de Donama.
Stop at the Bunkuani archaeological site. Hike to the Teiku indigenous reserve.


Upon arrival to our community you will meet the Hut where you will spend the night.
We will have lunch in the indigenous community and then we will visit the small indigenous village of Teiku.
We will learn about their tradition and work to build their houses. Their methods of agriculture and work of the land.
In the evening we will meet the Mamo. Spiritual leader of the tribe.
We will participate in a bonfire to dry coca leaves and later chew them while we receive the indigenous message.
Our Wiwa guides from the community will lead us for the rest of the day around their beautiful village.
A whole day with the Wiwa community to share and learn different activities and customs of our well-known older brothers.


Day 2
We will wake up very early to enjoy a local breakfast.
We will participate in some other activities with the indigenous community.
1-hour walk to the river to swim and enjoy nature.
Transfer to the restaurant for lunch.
Return to Santa Marta at 2:30 pm.


What To Bring?
Every single day you will hike through a dense humid forest. Even if the sun is not extremely warm, we will be sweating so much because of the humidity.
The secret to success during this adventure is taking a light backpack with us.
Small /medium size backpack.Light clothes to walk.Long sleeves shirt, and long pants for the nights.
Comfortable shoes to walk (hiking boots / running shoes.
Flip flops, small towel, swimsuit.
Toiletries.
Insect repellent, sunscreen.
A hat.
Cash to buy souvenirs from the indigenous and the farmers.
Cash for alcohol or cold drinks at the camps.Tips for the guides.
Meals, fruits, and snacks.
Accommodation on beds or hammocks.
Contribution to the Kogui and Wiwa indigenous communities.
Contribution to the peasant community that makes this adventure possible.
