Don Elias

Coffee Tour

Don Elías began his work in these lands approximately in the 80s, when the area was mountainous and rugged, with large coffee plantations that little by little sold the land to those interested or family members. At that time, to go from the farm to Salento, it took between 2 and 3 hours, since it was traveled by trail and, in the best of cases, on horseback.

On one occasion, a French-speaking tourist asked a horseman to take him to visit a farm because he was interested in learning about coffee. The horseman had the good sense to bring him to our farm, and Don Elias received him kindly. That encounter must have been very particular and somewhat comical. Imagine a Spanish-speaking farmer and a French-speaking tourist without a translator; saving that small obstacle, they could understand each other.

After a detailed explanation of Don Elias, the visitor was very grateful and delighted for the opportunity to learn about coffee.
