We will immerse ourselves in a fascinating journey through the customs of the Wiwa community, descendants of the "Tayrona".

An adventure through the extensive tropical rainforest.

Day 1

We pick you up from your accommodation between 7:00 am - 7:30 am to take you to our office where you can store your large luggage and also finalize payment for the tour.
  • Meet our team and everything is ready to take you to the indigenous village.

  • We will walk for about an hour through the mountains until we reach the village of Los Linderos from where we will start our hike to Mulkwakungui.

  • During the walk to Mulkwakungui, our local guide will tell us a little about the reasons for deforestation in certain visible areas near the Caribbean coast. In this way, we will understand the day-to-day life of the indigenous and peasant communities that share this beautiful and specific area of the region.

  • We will arrive at the indigenous village of Quebrada del Sol where we will be greeted with seasonal fruits belonging to the indigenous village.

After some words of welcome from our leader Mamo Augusto. Our Wiwa guides from the community will lead us for the rest of the day around their beautiful village.
A whole day with the Wiwa community to share and learn different activities and customs of our well-known older brothers.

  • Traditional farmer's lunch in the village of Quebrada del Sol.

  • Time to swim in the river and enjoy the nature around the village.

  • Dinner with the community.

After a good dinner and some rest, we will be invited to a small campfire with men from the indigenous community. Here we will receive the message and advice of the wisest of the population and we will have an open space to chat and learn more about this beautiful and profound culture of the Colombian Caribbean coast.

Day 2

Waking up to the ancestral sound of nature.
Enjoy a traditional breakfast of the region, a nice nature walk, and a bath in the majestic Buritaca river.
  • Traditional breakfast.

  • Hike to the Buritaca river.

  • Time to swim, meditate and enjoy the river Buritaca.

  • Visit to the hot springs "El oído del Nevado

  • Lunch with the indigenous community.

  • Return to the city of Santa Marta. 2:00 pm.

What To Bring?

Every single day you will hike through a dense humid forest. Even if the sun is not extremely warm, we will be sweating so much because of the humidity.
The secret to success during this adventure is taking a light backpack with us.

  • Small /medium size backpack.Light clothes to walk.Long sleeves shirt, and long pants for the nights.

  • Comfortable shoes to walk (hiking boots / running shoes.

  • Flip flops, small towel, swimsuit.

  • Toiletries.

  • Insect repellent, sunscreen.

  • A hat.

  • Cash to buy souvenirs from the indigenous and the farmers.

  • Cash for alcohol or cold drinks at the camps.Tips for the guides.
